Dr. Compton joined Eye Physicians of Southwest Virginia, PC in 2008. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in 2002, and he also graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2006 with a Doctorate of Optometry.
Dr. Compton completed internships at the Salem Veterans Hospital and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, where he received clinical honors in pediatric eye care. He is a member of the Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Compton specializes in primary eye care, pediatric eye care, contact lenses, and the treatment of ocular disease. He is licensed in Virginia and sees patients in our Abingdon office.
Outside of work, Dr. Compton is interested in rare books and publications, especially those regarding the history of Southwest Virginia.
